Cafe del Pescatore Scarborough
Owner Nick Fiore has given his oceanside restaurant on Scarborough's Esplanade a jaunty nautical theme. Fishing nets are draped from the ceiling, lobster pots don the walls, ship wheels hang from doors and there's even a caged ornamental parrot. But Nick is quite serious when it comes to sourcing his produce. Garden Island mussels are brought in fresh daily, as are the oysters; while local crayfish, Shark Bay crabs and North West squid are delivered twice a week for the popular seafood platter and equally delectable fishy dishes. He also imports fine chocolates from Italy, has scoured WA's wine producing regions for the best vinos and added a handful of Victorian, SA and NZ labels for good measure. There are no barrels of rum down in his cellar, but you could get merry on a Pescatore's beach cocktail or two.
