Silks Bar & Bistro Belmont
There's a real touch of class to this suburban bar and bistro, evident in more than just its stylish, contemporary decor. The Silks team are a bunch of smooth operators, with classically-trained French chef Christophe Jerome arguably the slickest of them all. Onetime chef of London's prestigious Escargot Dore and founder of Hobart's fine dining phenomenon, Elbow Room, he now weaves his magic at Silks.
Many have been seduced by his roasted lamb shanks in rich red wine sauce, fresh herbs, root vegetables and potato mash. He's also won a fair few Aussie hearts with his sensational surf and turf - a chargrilled Scotch fillet, dauphinoise potatoes and creamy garlic prawns.
