At 16th on Park, most of the action seems to be on the footpath area, though there is quieter seating tucked out the back where you can enjoy a more intimate experience. A full complement of meals are served here, from a solid big brekkie to modern interpretations of tapas and more substantial mod-Oz fare, but the real showstopper at 16th is the dessert menu. Boasting a massive spread of sweet treats, 16th presents a nice balance of slightly twisted classics and pure sugar innovation. An accompanying hot chocolate is highly recommended as these are also the house specialty, but tackling a lavish dessert and a whole hot chocolate on your own is not for the faint-hearted. Purists will probably be drawn to the flourless chocolate cake with a side of peanut brittle, while first-date crowd will find it hard to go past the couverture fondue for two.
