Zum Salamanca

Zoom into Zum Salamanca, a busy and sophisticated meeting spot for happy Hobart locals. One of the most popular breakfast and lunch cafes in the area, Zum transforms from a morning pit stop, where it serves ricotta hot cakes, open-faced omelettes and bruschetta, into a trendy afternoon haunt, offering great oysters, risottos, pastas, burgers and salads. Tempted by a tipple? Tasmanian whisky liqueurs and specialty spirits are on hand throughout the day, along with an extensive wine and beer list.

Breakfast to return for!
As somewhat of a regular at ZUM, the French toast with bacon and maple syrup, with organe slices and strawberries cannot be passed. What initially seemed an unsual combination of sweet and savoury has become my all-time favourite request for a breakfast outing. It can also be served as a 1/2 serve for those who can't face a big meal so early in the day.
The banana bread is also worth a try, if you're not feeling too peckish.
Service is generally quick - moreso if you let them know - and the atmosphere is one of calmness and warmth - which is particularly nice on those cold winter mornings.

Lunch at Zum
Myself and two other friends had a quick lunch here and I must say I was very impressed. The atmosphere was excellent, very stylish with a lovely alfresco area out the back as well as the front. The food was very tasty and did not take long to get to us at all. The service was also fabulous. It really was 'Zum Zum!!'. Fast, polite and efficient. Reasonably priced too. I would highly recommend to anyone!
