Melbourne's "Little Italy" on Lygon Street is lucky to have such a strong and vibrant Italian culinary culture. Zingarella, which has been in the area since 2007, is a warm and modern-style eatery that taps into the local appetite for Italian cuisine. The menu is comprised of assagini (starters) and entrees like arancini balls, eggplant chips and Nonna's meatballs (Polpette); pastas, risottos and mains such as rigatoni ragu, vegetable lasagne and spicy Italian sausage; and dolci (desserts) such as the nutella scrolls, lemon tarts and honeycomb semifreddo. If that doesn't make you hungry, who knows what will.

Zingarella
I love Italian food and in Lygon street the restaurants all have very similar menus - Zingarella's menu has some interesting and different options - I liked this. I had Fettucini with spicy Italian Sausage which was lovely - I also felt that the prices are very good value. It's a small venue and not a quiet hide away sort of place.
