In the middle of semi-industrial Fyshwick, Zierholz is a beer barn with a difference. In an area known for its creatures of the night, Zierholz, under the deft guidance of master brewer Christoph Zierholz, offers beer and modern pub grub with distinct bite.
The microbrewery offers a neat selection of beers that are all predominately Germanic in style, while the food is a melange of daily specials scrawled on a blackboard by chef Cameron Harmer. Classic beer accompaniments change daily but may include a Flemish beef stew lovingly braised in Zierholz Porter or a classic chicken schnitzel with wedges.
On the dessert front, a contemporary take on the apple strudel is sure to pique the interests of those with a sweet tooth.
