First and foremost, the coffee is strong, smooth and made consistently well by people who are passionate about their caffeine. The atmosphere is quirky yet stylish enough to be comfortable. In short, Zest is a breath of fresh air in the somewhat tired area of Glen Waverley. Meanwhile, the food is simply stellar: rarely will you find an accredited chef preparing breakfast in a suburban cafe, and when you do you should thank whatever deity you pray to for the small miracle. Two of the three owners are chefs and the Bruno's Fix brekkie dish - grilled chorizo sausage, capsicum, onion, tomato, fetta and a soft poached egg - is hard to beat.
