Zenith
I had been searching for anywhere that did a good seafood paella in Melbourne and search as I might, I struggled to find one. A friend recommended Zenith as having a great paella and the girlfriend and I ventured out to see if it was all it was cracked up to be.
Being on Acland street, St Kilda, I suppose I was expecting the decor to be something special. Overall it was a little worn and tired looking, although the diners seemed quite content. Renowned for its cheap and fairly high quality steaks, I was surprised to find the paella was quite good. The prawns, Moreton Bay bug, and baby octopus were very good although the mussels were a tad on the dry side. The meal is listed as 'paella for two' and really you need three people to do it justice as we only got a short way into the meal before we were satisfied.
The service was fantastic (very quick, friendly and attentive), and the wine list was reasonable (not an extensive list of pinot noir, but then I am a pinot freak).
The bruschetta was a bit different with garlic, cheese and breadcrumbs (along with tomato) and could perhaps be simplified.

Overall, quite a surprise from somewhere I always considered catered to the 'pub crowd'.

Experienced old-fashioned service with great food. Menu has a little of everything, very generous servings with great presentation. Wine list suits everyone from novice to experienced palates.

Service from wait staff is excellent, they make you feel welcome from the moment you walk into the restaurant.

Relax near the fireplace for a romantic dinner or have a coffee outside and just watch the local traffic stroll through whatever time of day.
