Disappointed Once Again
What started out as a great little cafe with awesome service, good prices and simple fine fare has fast become tedious, overpriced and disappointing.
Having been a regular to this cafe over the last 6 months we have decided no more, how many chances does one give a restaurant/cafe before admitting it is not worth it?
A group of us decided to have dinner on Saturday night and I chose the Pan Seared Tuna served with pancetta and potatoes, I must admit if I had been able to see the price ($32.90) I would have passed. What arrived at our table was a small piece of tuna sitting on top of 3 small half slices of potato with very hard, over cooked salty pancetta cubes sprinkled on top. Not a leaf of lettuce or vegie in sight. What in the world possessed the chef to present this as a dish? Not only was it unappealing to look at, but very basic. The tastes didn't meld together, the pancetta was painful, perhaps very thin slices lightly cooked would have been better?!? All in all it was an uninspiring mess. The poor tuna that sacrificed its life to end up on this plate would have been most humiliated! Now remember the price? Yes over $30 bucks for a small bit of tuna and 3 small halves of potato and a bit of pig gone wrong.
Sad to say the meals have been gradually getting smaller and smaller, the prices have been getting bigger and bigger and the service has started to slide.
Tsk Tsk Z Brasserie, how sad to see you fall by the wayside.
