Just on the outskirts of the main Glenferrie Road dining hub, Yummy Pot exudes mouth-watering smells and a friendly family vibe with alfresco seating, and fresh green decor. The menu doesn't extend much beyond generic Chinese fare, but the quality and affordability of the dishes make this a popular spot with local student populations.
The dishes range from clay pot rice recipes (dried pork sausage and dried pork with sticky rice), chicken and beef satay and noodle soups with prawn, roast duck and fish balls, to curry laksa, tom yum noodles, Szechuan curry chicken and a host of seafood combination omelettes. Hot and spicy home-made chilli oil can be purchased here and the steaming barbeque pork, glistening Peking duck and glazed beef strung up in the display window give this place a certain authentic appeal which keeps regular diners hooked.

A Favourite Spot of Mine
Open late and cheap food. Don't expect anything too flashy but it's certainly a spot to take a group of friends for some good-tasting Chinese food - brought out fast and hot. My favourite is the prawn dumpling noodle soup with a side of chopped chilli! This place is buzzing with students and local workers at lunch. By night it can go either way and be very busy early on but quieter after 9pm.
