Hesitant shoppers can ponder their purchases in a suitably relaxed style at this combination gift shop and cafe. Crammed full of knick-knacks and spiritually enlightening publications, the shop is a one-stop shop for offbeat gifts for friends and soul-enriching treats for oneself. Deciding between the quirky gifts is tough work but the cafe offers a welcome space to take a seat and consider the options over casual meals, such as an almond, garden leaf and cherry tomato salad; or house-made pork and beef pies.

Far from ordinary
My mother and I dined at Yi Cafe during our lunch break from work and we both found our dining experience to be far from ordinary. We were seated and given menus immediately and our meals and drinks were ordered very promptly indeed. We both had the Caesar Salad with the Lemon Peppered Calamari and I must say that it was the best Caesar Salad I have had for a long time. The dressing was delicious and creamy and it didn't overpower the rest of the dish. The calamari was lovely and tender too with just enough seasoning.
I would thoroughly recommend this cafe to anyone. Even though the cafe is a little pokey and noisy, it is definitely worth the visit for their food and wonderful service.

Very ordinary
Went here for lunch with a girlfriend as we'd both never been and heard some good reports. The food was ordinary - that's it! We shared the bread with dips as a starter which was ok. Pretty hefty bil for bread and dips with alot of dips tasting like they were out of a jar especially the pesto - seriously think i have the same one in a jar in my fridge at home. The prawn & snapper risotto was very creamy - probably to mask the fact that they really didn't know how to make a risotto so just piled on the cream. The grilled snapper with chat potatoes was over cooked and was supposed to have a honey mustard sauce as well - a teaspoon of the sauce was not enough and considering everything was so dry it really would have helped to mask that fact. We will never go back!
