In what was once a rather quiet stretch of Crown Street, Xage Vietnamese has set up shop, bringing something of a buzz to the area, even early in the week. And with an indoor/outdoor dining area that spills onto the footpath, passersby can look enviously on at diners enjoying this fabulously fresh cuisine. The open plan space may seem more suited to steamy summer heat, but the menu transitions well from summer to winter, with salads and light meals sitting alongside creamy curries.
Entrees are mainly comprised of summer rolls (owners Minh and Nui Nguyen also have a summer roll outlet in the CBD), with fillings ranging from traditional prawn to the signature vegetarian-friendly honey tofu. Pick of the salads is the five-spice duck breast and papaya salad in basil chilli peanut dressing; perfect for sharing and surprisingly filling. For something a little heartier, peruse the specialty section of the menu, where you'll encounter slow-cooked beef curry with lotus root, and the signature caramelised Berkshire pork shoulder.

Great food at great prices
Came here for dinner with a group of 6. Meals were all really tasty and fresh. Excellent value for money - will definitely be back!
