You really can't beat the spectacular views here of Adelaide shimmering beneath you. While the view is the same as that on offer at Windy Point Restaurant next door, this multi-award-winning cafe allows diners to enjoy the stellar outlook in much more casual surrounds. The menu is similarly more casual, with a fusion of fresh produce, Italian flavours and Asian and Middle Eastern influences. Delicacies include the Kangaroo Island haloumi and crispy-skinned kingfish. Romantic and intimate, the Windy Point Cafe maintains a high standard in the South Australian dining scene.

Nice Food, Nice View
The food was delicious, the service was prompt and the view was fantastic. The only negative I have about it, is that we were served a $10 bottle of water which we did not ask for, or were not asked about. However, other than that I would definitely recommend Windy Point Cafe to my family and friends.

Great atmosphere - average food.
I went to Windy Point Cafe with two girlfriends this week. The atmosphere is lovely, such a breathtaking view and really nice looking interior.
The food was quite average. We shared the sweet potatoe pies(they were amazing), dips( not great at all) and chargrilled sour dough bread with garlic paste (really not nice) to start with. The sweet potatoe pie was stand out.
I then had fish and chips for main. I would have happily gone to a fish and chip shop and paid ten dollars for the same thing rather than pay 26 doallrs for the same stuff. My friend got a beef dish which was actually very tasty, and my other friend got the kangaroo which she enjoyed quite a bit. For dessert I got "Chocolate Mousse" which was actually a large serving of chocolate ganache. No bubles, thicker than mud and not very nice. I ate about a quarter of it.
All in all, I was impressed with the view but not greately impressed with the food. It was fine - its just I've had better for a lot less money. Also one thing that really annoys me is when the waiter assumes you'd like still spring water. I am a student and don't have that much money, so $20 for two bottles of water is outrageous considering he didn't ask if we wanted table water or spring water.

Spectacular Night
My partner and I spent a fantastic evening at the Windy Point Cafe on Saturday 27 June. We started with the garlic pizza bread to share which was sensational. Followed by the Windy Point Grilled Oysters which was an interpretation of the Kilpatrick. The spicy sauce (a chef's secret which we couldnt find out the recipe!) was a perfect blend of warmth and flavour. The mains were Harissa marinated chicken and battered monkfish. The highlight was the cous cous and cashews with the chicken. Monkfish as weird as it sounds was the best fish and chips I have had in a very long time. for dessert we shared a tiramisu and a chocolate mousse with rocky road. need I say more! So tasty. The service and atmosphere accompanied by the view made this one of the best nights we have enjoyed in a long time. The prices of the meals and wine were moderately priced. Overall a great night.

Sadly lacking in all departments
It was to be a special occasion, and well due to the cold winds at our backs, the sad meals and general lack of appeal or enthusiasm, which was evident in spades at Windy Point! It was just windy and bleak!

Not that fantastic
I went with good expectations of Windy Point Cafe but was very disappointed and probably wouldn't go again if I had a choice. I ordered the Haloumi for main and it was just terrible it was supposed to come with tomato and basil, well no basil and the tomato was sundried tomato from the jar and the haloumi was swimming in the same oil, sought of was expecting fresh tomato. Also I ordered the meal as a main course size and got an entree, they did bring out another entree size which added up to not the $27 on the menu but $31, I would not have worried about the $3.5 if meal wasn't so bad, my husband didn't mind his meal but said it was no better than front bar pub fare . I have been to the Restaurant as well and honestly wouldn't rate that much higher either, smoke and mirrors I think. Much better restaurants in Adelaide, if you are going for the view and view only well you might be OK! Might appeal to punters who think this is a classy establishment I thought otherwise.

Not as good as it looks
The atmosphere was excellent and the view was fantastic, however the meal did not meet the standards. Don't have the butter chicken, as it doesn't taste anything like butter chicken. They also forgot to take off the mould/cup that the rice was in when the mains got delivered, also forgot our garlic bread and still charged us for it. This place needs management to step up!

Beautiful
Shared a very special dinner here Friday night with my girlfreind to celebrate our six-year anniversary. We had been there once before and couldn't think of a better place to have such a nice dinner. The view that you have overlooking the city of Adelaide really is breath-taking. Each table is candlelit, the windows are floor-to-ceiling high and the food is fantastic (my favourite had to be the oysters kilpatrick). It is very reasonably priced too for the quality and serving size of food you receive. Two entrees, two mains, two desserts, six beverages and just under $130. Service was outstanding and very well presented. Thank you for a great dining experience. Recommend to anyone.
