Sharyn Sinclair and Carol Ashton wanted to provide like-minded people with a complete organic eating and shopping experience, so in 2007 they brought an organic market, cafe and wellness centre together under one roof. The result - Wild Thyme - features earthy decor that somehow makes you feel good and wholesome just by being there. Even the walls tell a pleasing story - "we support happy hens, contented cows and busy earthworms ... we are passionate about all things that bring us closer to nature."
They don't even use microwaves at Wild Thyme, as they prepare their small menu of tasty dishes. Cheese lovers will melt over torta rustica; an Italian dish, its white wine pastry layers envelop three cheeses, winter greens and free-range bacon. The frittata is filled with sweet potato, roasted tomato, baby spinach and red onion; and the mushroom, leek and goats cheese lasagna provides a dose of yummy comfort food. These dishes are served with Wild Thyme salad, which is dotted with free-range chicken, herbs and roasted vegetables.
You can start your day here with chef's griddle cakes, smoked salmon, eggs and Swiss quark cheese, or put a sweet end to it with an afternoon tea of frangipani and fruit tart; or a slice of hummingbird or lemon polenta cake.

Good for you food that tastes good too!
Have visited Wild Thyme several times over past 3 years. The coffee is excellent, served exactly as ordered. On this visit I enjoyed their gluten free muesli which came with yoghurt and stewed rhubarb, absolutely scrummy. Staff are very bouncy and helpful, and of course you can enjoy the retail section of the store to select from a range of unusual wholefood staples and luxury items too. Always a pleasure.
