Wild Poppy

For a casual brekkie, lunch, brunch or afternoon tea in Freo, Wild Poppy is an easy choice. Run by Graeme Shapiro of Perth CBD fine diner 1907 and his wife Robyn, Wild Poppy represents a more casual affair altogether; it's a buzzing space with a cutesy charm, mostly emanating from the colourful and comfy armchairs and the unusual doily-cloaked light fittings. The menu is just as eclectic as the space, catering to fans of organic coffee, freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries, gourmet sandwiches with an international twist, homemade breakfast sausages, and plenty of other casual culinary delights made using quality local and imported produce. There's also free Wi-Fi for those who'd like to pair their bites with bytes.

lovely breaky altho could service could be improved
I dined here with my fiance & my mum for brunch. We originally sat inside but moved outside when a table became available. The breakfasts where well presented & the food was lovely however they never came out at the same time. We were getting served by a young girl who didnt think to take away our empty coffee cups whilst bring our food to make way for more room. Also when i asked for sauce with my breakfast it was a good 5 mins before they brought it so i had already started eating! They were busy & i think the young people serving didnt have a lot of experience. I would go back as the food was good.

Great coffee at Wild Poppy . . . but
We had the best coffee at Wild Poppy on a visit to Perth and the range of pastries was good. So many breakfast places don't offer pastries these days. Granola was nice, too. Cooked breakfasts at other tables looked good and it seemed to be a toast heaven.

However the timing was way out. My husband's pastry arrived straight away. The granola came ages after and I was half way through that before the coffee arrived. They weren't that busy, either. We would have liked another coffee but couldn't handle another long wait.

Just a glitch? We will try it again another time.
