The Wholesome Bean is a Bendigo cafe with a conscience. This independent coffee house produces its own blend of beans, using only certified fair-trade coffee. Owner and barista Luke Gray serves up a regularly changing selection of five single-origin beans, as well as two espresso blends and chemical-free water-processed decaf for caffeine-sensitive customers.
The cafe's vibe is friendly and health-conscious, with loads of vegan and vegetarian dining choices, such as vegan Madras vegetable curry, fresh muffins, toasted focaccias and pasta dishes. If you slip into one of their low tables during a quiet time, you might even be lucky enough to be treated to some of Gray's limited edition latte art.
