After countless prayers and wishes from Sydneysiders everywhere, a venue like this has finally come to our fair harbour town. Combining art gallery and teahouse, White Rabbit fills a space that was desperately lacking in Sydney. The contemporary art, although constantly changing, is blessedly selective. The exhibitions are far more likely to convert non-believers in modern art than add credence to their beliefs.
As far as the teahouse goes, White Rabbit boasts its very own Uygur tea expert, who serves up anything from a simple lychee tea to a complex silver-needle. Couple this with some snack plates and biscuits baked fresh every day, and you've got a recipe for a great afternoon. Most importantly, however, this cute little teahouse is a saviour for word association; now when you think of white rabbits, instead of Jefferson Airplane's acid rock song, you can think of great art spaces and calming herbal teas.
