Average evening out
We had dinner here with friends tonight. At first the waitress seemed a little surly but she turned out to be OK and quite polite. Service was good and drinks food etc were delivered on time and well. The food was a major disappointment. My friends both ordered the eye fillets and they were huge. But the size was at the expense of any quality, they said the meat was chewy and probably a cheap cut. Both friends left much of the meat behind as it was too hard to eat. My Tempura fish was overcooked so the fish was soggy. The Tempura batter was quite heavy and a strange deep golden/orange shade. Also the salad came smothered in Spanish onion. My fault for not asking to have it served without but the amount of onion on my pate could have covered 4 salads. I find most of the Docklands restaurants big and modern and totally lacking in any atmosphere. Quite un-Melbourne. Their only redeeming feature is the fact they're on the water.
