Waterfront Restaurant

Tucked away in a heritage-listed stone warehouse overlooking Circular Quay across to the Opera House, the Waterfront is oh-so-idyllic. Fishing nets, anchors, rudders and all kind of nautical paraphernalia adorns the restaurant, adding to the breezy setting. Tables and chairs overflow onto the outdoor terrace and offer up a tranquil spot to enjoy the restaurant's panoramic vista. The menu boasts an impressive range of seafood, meat, poultry and pasta. Try the whole baby snapper, chargrilled with lemon capers and parsley; or the 'ship and shore': an Angus beef fillet served with king prawns, roast tomato, beans and bearnaise sauce. No seafood meal is complete without a glass of fine vino, so hit the wine list to check out the selection of local red, white and sparkling on offer.

Good food but service has dropped
I've been to the Waterfront quite a few times and have always enjoyed my experience. However, on my recent visit, I was not very impressed with the service. The food was good, and has always been good and I even gave them some tips on how to make it better (arguably, using my well-rounded experience!!!!!). However, I was let down by the service provided throughout the night on a number of occasions. For such a high quality restaurant, things have sadly gone south in the service department. The more I pay for a meal, the better service I expect.

It's expensive, but hey...
Look, we know the premium comes with this location, but at least the food matched up to the atmosphere at Waterfront, which is more than I can say for some other restaurants around there. We had wonderful fresh oysters and softshell crab for entree, crab linguine and pancetta wrapped scallops for mains and a great bottle of blush to wash it down.
Our service was exceptional, but we were there very early - not at peak time.
Really enjoyed it - and when I've saved up for a while, I think I'll be back.
Thanks Guys.

Impressed
On one of the busiest days of the year all the stops were pulled out for service and food at this restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive and went above and beyond. The food was quickly delivered without being rushed and the wine was free flowing. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quintessential Sydney dining experience. Top effort.

Disappointed
Dined here for my birthday. The view was spectacular, however the dining experience was extremely disappointing. It took over an hour for our orders to be taken, after numerous times of hailing the waiter to our table. After such a lengthy time of waiting you would presume the waiter would take our order first, however served a couple next to our table of 15, whom arrived after us! The food arrived and was cold, the kilpatrick oysters were shrivelled up in a gluggy sauce.

For the price I would definitely expect more attentive service and quality food!
