Placed in the much-loved Paris end of Collins Street, this modish, casual European-style inner city eatery is equally suitable for on-the-go coffee hits, quick bites and more leisurely business lunches. Vivaldi Italian Bar & Restaurant's kitchen focuses on fresh, high-quality produce cooked in authentic Italian styles, offering classic Italian fare such as risottos and paninis, and ample vegetarian options. From the gourmet pizzas, the "Vivaldi" is a standout, featuring Napoli sauce, mozzarella, prawns, calamari, fresh fish, parsley and fresh chilli.
For the mains the gnocchi, lasagne and scotch fillet dishes are highlights, but it's hard to go past the signature Shancatura, a concoction of anchovies, breadcrumbs, dry chilli, fresh chilli, garlic, white wine and grana padano cheese. This authentic Calabrian dish is not included on the printed menu, but is always available upon request. For a post-meal swish, a look at the wine and beer list should entice a thirsty diner into a stroll to the wine bar.
