A great modern bistro with Italian flair, Vine offers a cafe menu during the day and modern Italian dishes with provincial specials at night. The dark polished wood furniture and chocolate leather banquettes complement the renaissance-style artworks and add to the Italian bistro feel. The field mushroom bruschetta is a tasty variation on a familiar starter while dishes like the gnocchi in a Napolitana sauce with sheep's milk ricotta are excellent to follow. Despite the modern twist on the food, the service has all the traditional warmth and welcome that one expects in a good Italian restaurant.

So understated and yet so good
I have known owner Mark since his barista days at Little Larder and it is a well known fact among locals that he serves the best espresso in New Farm. On a night with the girls, we could not fault the service or the ambience sitting out on the footpath. Though one night I would just love to snuggle into one of the booths out the back with my boy. Just can't rave enough about the scallops and angel hair pasta dish, delicate, perfect balance of flavours and fresh. The wine choice is fabulous, to complement that great coffee. I visit regularly for an afternoon coffee and always try to find an excuse to go up for dinner. This place deserves so much more attention from the food critics - a real gem in waiting.

God, I love this place for Brekky
My partner and I have become regular breakfast-goers in the past few years and rarely miss a weekend breakfast out. Vine as quickly become our favourite. The service is impeccable, the food is fantastic and great value. Don't go expecting a young crowd, or a friendly one, but the awesome staff make up for it!
