Last hurrah
Well, it's official. As I left Vina Bar yesterday the owner was putting a notice up in the window stating they would close for good on Tuesday 24th April. Get in now while you can people for you final pho....

Carlton favourite to close.....
After having my usual vegie & tofu pho for lunch with a friend this afternoon, I was told by the owner that Vina Bar will be closing forever at the end of this month. All I can say people is get in there & eat up your favourites before they are gone for good, as someone who eats here at least once a week I don't know what I'm going to do without them.....a sad day indeed.

Great value for money
If you're up for something other than Italian on Lygon Street, you can't go wrong with Vina Bar. The atmosphere is pretty laid back, and certainly isn't fancy as a lot of the restaurants on Lygon, but the food is excellent!
I love their stir-frys and curries, and find the value for money is fantastic. Less than $20 got me a drink, some spring rolls to share, and a curry.
I was most impressed with the food, as you might not expect something as good from the decor (looks a bit like a noodle hut).
Definitely recommended. Service is a lot faster & friendlier than many of the other places on this busy street. It does tend to pack out on a Friday/Saturday evening though, so you might have to wait for a table.
