Restaurant Information
Vin Cellar
The walls are lined with more than 1300 vintages, constituting the restaurant's wine cellar. What with the rows of bottles on the wall, the open fire and the candle light, this restaurant is the sort of sexy, sophisticated eatery where James Bond might take a date for a casual meal...if 007 was a rampant oenophile, of course. Patrons are encouraged to browse among the shelves and salivate over the rare vintages (or at least, the pretty labels), all available at bottleshop prices with a minimal corkage. It really is all about the wine, but the cuisine gets its share of attention too. With an emphasis on Asian flavours and a touch of Mediterranean influence, there is something to go with whichever drop you choose.

Best Wine Bar in Australia
Started with a dry sherry on the advice of our server, Bob. Oysters, both naked and dressed (naked was our favorite), Crystal Bay Prawns and Blue Eye - all were excellent and presented with perfection. The wine, Angus the Bull, Cabernet Sauvignon, vintage 2007, was smooth and full-bodied and absolutely perfect for us! We partook of the dessert variety selection which proved a bit of a problem as I am allergic to watermelon, but no worries, no offense was taken, removed from the table and no charge. We finished with lovely sweet sherry, also suggested by Bob and the grand finale, a fine cappuccino. The service was the best I have experienced in Australia, the atmosphere quiet and subdued to allow for full enjoyment of the food, wine and company. Romantic and a real pleasure!
