With big windows lining the front of the restaurant, Vie is at its best on a beautiful summer's day, with light streaming in and views out to the pedestrian traffic of Giles Street. While the Kingston shoppers make their carefree, arm-swinging way along the strip, the action is more subdued within the restaurant - the large minimalist space is uncluttered and calming, with the quiet hum of business lunchers providing a subtle soundtrack. Vie's menu is packed with contemporary creations, from a vine leaf-wrapped salmon with haloumi to a marriage of scallop and pork belly. Save a little room for dessert: creations such as a chocolate terrine or a passionfruit panna cotta are worth being a bit late back to the office.

really good brunch menu
I came here for brunch a little while ago and thought that it was lovely. The food was only topped by the lady who served us - she was delightful.

Best service at a breakfast you'll ever get.
We've been a few times this year to Vie, and every single time, it's consistent. The location is great, the food is great and the service is ALWAYS brilliant. It makes it difficult to go anywhere else for a breakfast cause you get such great service. There's nothing worse than going out for a Sunday breakfast and walking away annoyed because you waited 20 minutes for menus and 30 minutes for coffees... But never at Vie!!! Such a good place. Well done, Vie!

Delicious Food, Great Service
We had dinner at Vie restaurant and were very happy with both our meals and the service. We shared a few entrees (the tortellini was amazing you could tell it was made fresh on the premises) and we loved the scallops also. Slow cooked Wagyu featured as a special and was to die for. We only wish we had room for dessert, but for that we will return.

Great breakfast!!
We've only been to Vie for breakfast, but it's excellent! The service is good (no sitting around waiting for an hour for your food like other Kingston cafes at breakfast), and the menu offers some great alternatives to the boring norm you find most places.

Will not be going back
The food was brilliant - the staff were very...hrmm how can I put this? Up themselves. They tried to charge us for 2 bottles of wine instead of 1 and didn't take fault when we told them the mistake they had made. Very arrogant staff and it's sad as we wont be returning.

Vie used to be great but new management is not at all welcoming or accommodating, at least not for groups larger than 3 (or maybe it was just us?). We don't ask for much, certainly nothing more than we asked for and received every other weekend for the past couple of years.
Its their way or the highway, after two attempts we chose the highway. Maybe you're their target demographic, good luck.
Now on the lookout for a brunch place that will accept regular custom from 6 and 12 people on weekends.
nb Vie's not cheap prices have also gone up.
