Verve Cafe

It may seem like standard cafe fare, all pizzas and pastas, but chef Brett Munro had added his imaginative flair to each dish, promising something exceptional and quite often, unusual. Definitely worth discovering.

Great find!
I've worked around the corner from this place for 4 years and never realised there was a restaurant downstairs.
Went with a friend for a work lunch and it was fantastic. The pasta dishes are beautiful and rich. I had the chicken and goat's cheese gnochhi which was so good I had to finish it all even though I was absolutely stuffed.
Great price, great food and good service. Will definitely be going back.

Verve Cafe
Booked dinner with friends, this place is always packed out on Friday and Saturday nights, so always worth booking in advance! It was crazy loud in there this night, lots of group parties going on, but we didn't mind it added to the atmosphere.

The service was ok, not fantastic but ok - took us ages and 4 asks to get some water for the table!

Food was lovely and each of us enjoyed our meals. Will go there again and again as its reasonably priced and a fun and tasty place to grab a city dinner.

Love it
A group of us go here semi-regularly for lunch and we love it. The blue cheese and chicken rissotto is delicious - as are the seafood pastas. Personally I find the goat's cheese gnocchi a bit rich.

Keep an eye out for the owner who has a dry sense of humour but is very funny and very nice.

A secret little hideaway in the middle of the city
This grungy little basement of a restaurant is a real gem and you would never know such a cool little den was down there just from walking past. I love going there for a boozy Friday lunch when you can forget you were even at work that morning... The food is tasty and simple Italian. I rate the eggplant gnocchi and the goat cheese gnocchi. The pastas are the bomb here - steer away from the more expensive plated meals. The best thing about this place is the dingy bar area where they have djs and $4 peronis at happy hour on Friday. I love this place!

I found this dimly lit cafe to be really cozy and very friendly. Food and wine were excellent. Definitely a must try.
