Valley View Restaurant

The largest licensed function centre in the Swan Valley, the Valley View also provides a nice location for an intimate dining experience. As the name suggests, the evergreen views enhance the beauty of your dining experience, giving it a relaxing, outdoorsy vibe. A cafe during the day, it turns into a more upmarket restaurant at night, serving modern Australian cuisine. If you're craving some Australiana, try the outback platter with braised crocodile legs, thin sliced carpaccio of water buffalo, slices of roasted kangaroo and emu sausages.

not happy jan
Didn't start well as rang twice to book and got answering machine and calls wern't returned. Third time lucky but I nearly wasn't going to try again. Went expecting to be seated inside for a reasonably formal dining experience. (We were there for a milestone birthday celebration) Instead were seated outside under a side verandah - at night -but was child friendly. Everyone that had the 400gm steak enjoyed it but forget the big blob of over creamy stuff served up as risotto and forget the oysters kilpatrick that tasted like BBQ sauce. Service happened with prompting. One desert was completely forgotten and had to be asked for after everyone else had received and eaten theirs. Had to finally ask for the bill and then the deserts wern't included and this had to be pointed out to the staff who didn't even seem to appreciate being told. (about $80 worth). The toilet cubicle was out of paper and staff had to be told! All in all, not the experience I had expected from a very pleasant looking place as it wasn't cheap and I was paying for a sizeable group and I wouldn't bother going there again.

Wedding reception 16th April the other Side of the Coin

The bride and groom entered the venue and expressed how beautiful the venue looked, they arrived a little late as per their running sheet, however this did not matter as you can never be too specific with these thing, as people can be delayed from time to time
(1) Riesling was served free of charge to guests as some guests found that the Sauvignon Blanc that the groom had chosen was too dry for them. This was an extra wine that was not in their drinks package but served free of charge on the day. There is no notes in the running sheet or on the bride and grooms wedding file to say that they wanted champagne for toasts, beer and wine were replenished when needed and if any one required anything different there was also a full bar service available.
(2) Table arrangements are not the responsibility of the venue it is up to the function organizers where they want their guests to be seated, the venue set the tables and chairs up as per the bride and grooms request,
(3) There was a problem with the bar tab the groom set up, the grooms credit card at the end of the night declined and could not be used to settle the account, this was not a problem for the venue however the mother of the groom decided to pay the bill with her credit card after she could not get in touch with the groom
(4) The food that the bride and groom asked for was a basic buffet menu
(5) The venue always advises any function to do sound checks before the function, Acoustics need to be checked before your speeches as you can get feedback from your DJ or mobile phones or traffic this is all out of our control.
(6) Timings did alter on the day as they do with most functions due to speeches running over and other verbals out of our control, MOTG did argue with the staff, especially as the night went on how ever the staff did not argue back and remanded professional and responsible, acting with a duty of care to their patrons both as a licensee and also a function manager
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Not A Good Experience, Wedding Reception.
My wife and I recently had our wedding reception here.
If it wasn't for my mother, a whole load of patience and a large bar tab it would have been a complete disaster (as it was it really did leave a sour taste in my mouth).
(1) Bar: Riesling served on tables instead of Sauvignon Blanc, wrong Red was served and no Champagne. There were problems with the beer to be served on tap, and the guests were never told of the solution, which lead to a lot of confusion on how to order. Wine on tables was also not replenished.
(2) Table Arrangement: Wrong seatings for all guests, as far as putting mother of the groom in the corner of the room! When confronted about this the management replied that we were wrong and not them.
(3) Member of staff running the floor (who is a partner and not an employee) was rude to both guests and wedding party.
(4) Food was average, but not outstanding.
(5) Acoustics in the function room are appalling - trying to give a speech with the echo coming back was very difficult.
(6) Timing: The staff had the wrong timings for bridal party arrival (despite it being corrected twice in meetings beforehand), MOTG had to argue with staff to get them moved correctly.
I would not recommend this experience for anyone, especially not on such an important and memorable day.
Avoid at all costs.

Food, glorious food
The food here is an absolute standout. I rarely order steak, I figure I can cook a steak at home pretty darn well so I usually order things I have never tried or that I know are beyond my skill level. This day I ordered the rump and it was fantastic. Food and service wise this restaurant was the ducks nuts. The chef is apparently a part owner so he genuinely cares what comes out of the kitchen. I could find nothing to fault here on this day
