Big and painted in a bright, invigorating shade of blue, Valentino's can't be faulted for being overly subtle. The bold, not-backwards-in-coming-forward attitude continues inside, where a grand staircase and a mezzanine balcony dominate the decor - don't worry ladies, you'll get your chance to play Scarlett O'Hara, as the toilets are upstairs.
Downstairs you can order meals all day, from 10am during the week and 8am on the weekends, with the kitchen staying open until about 11pm to cater for the late-night coffee crowd. Breakfast delivers a good dose of standard cafe fare, while the lunch and dinner menus offer modern Australian meals with a strong Italian influence - half the mains are pastas or risotti.
Despite the generous proportions inside, the warmer months see most people packing the outdoor area, where pavement seating affords a good view of Northbridge's passing parade. Back inside, the mezzanine level also features a large banqueting area, which can cater for seated functions of up to 140 people.

Extremely Impressed!!!
I have been to Valentinos many times before, but the most recent time I went (just this weekend) was by far the best! They have recently appointed a new head chef and a new manager. It has certainly paid off!! Their new menu is superb and the food is to die for. The service was great and the atmosphere warm and cosy. I will definitely be going back soon! Brilliant!!

The only place to dine in Northbridge!
My work had a function last week upstairs at Valentino's. There were 50 of us and I must say that the service and food quality was exceptional. I ordered the Valentino Fillet which was 'out of this world!' Everyone at the function had a great night and would highly recommend this venue.

Not impressed
I agree with Susie...bad... we went to Valentino's yesterday and were very disappointed. We were still halfway throught our starter of Turkish bread and tasteless dips when we were asked if we were ready for our main course. We said we were not and then when we had finished our starter had to wait about 25 minutes for our terrible main meal...my husband's risotto looked like glue and the chicken in both our pasta dishes had a not so fresh tangy taste.. we had a few mouthfuls and left.. never to reutrn to Valentino's again.. $65 of rubbish...

Baaad!
Long story but this might save you the disapointment. After booking a week in advance, my family and I arrived on time at Valentino's to celebrate my dad's birthday. We were told that our table wasn't ready, and were ushered upstairs to stand at an empty bar, while patrons seated around us finished their meals. After 3 or so explanations from the nice bargirl she sat us at somebody else's table for 12, only being 6 of us we felt out of place. Time passed and she came back to tell us our table was ready downstairs. So we all walked back down, to the shocked look of 1 waiter who pushed two tables together under the stairs and quickly took our drink orders. I told him we needed time to look at the menu and asked for some water. He brought back a $4.50 bottle of water and poured us all drinks, without saying a word. After 45mins of being treated like dirt, that was enough. But I suggested I walk down Northbridge to find a nicer place.
