This eclectic pub is very Melbourne, and for that matter very Fitzroy. The dining room has a nostalgic charm about it, with beautiful high ceilings and mismatched dining settings, while the beer garden is a rainbow of pastels, wall murals, stiff retro couches, pot plants and cacti.
The menu is somewhat typical of an Aussie pub, with a few stand-out items that push the cosy venue towards a gastro-pub direction. The appetiser of baked camembert with red onion chutney and toasted flat bread makes a delightfully decadent snack, and for main, the tea-smoked porterhouse with smashed potatoes and lemon-thyme mushrooms is flavoursome and hearty.
