This old-fashioned gem of a hotel has been renovated, and the aesthetic shake-up appears to have extended through to the bistro menu. Pub favourites such as steaks and parmas are still on the menu, but are more likely to come out as eye fillet with roasted garlic and pumpkin, with a sweet onion and date jus; or chicken parmigiana with chargrilled eggplant.
