Previously known as Belgravia at Union Bank, the Union Bank Wine Bar has since expanded its scope to include a wine store to celebrate the unique wines produced on the local Belgravia vineyard. These varietals also comprise a large portion of the phenomenal, ever-changing wine list offered in the restaurant, which also offers vino from Australia's top winemaking regions, as well as various European and New Zealand drops. Naturally, the Modern Australian and international bistro-style fare is designed to match the wines in quality, starting with the appetising cheese and antipasto platters. Mains and wines are paired together with care, such as the confit duck leg with a pinot noir, the roasted lamb rump with a sangiovese, or the peppered Mandagery Creek venison with a local cabernet or merlot.
This bout of indulgence is further complemented by the grand heritage-listed bank building where this lovingly refurbished venue sits, still beaming with old-world charm, complete with a classic fireplace and a summery courtyard. Simultaneously, the polished wooden floors and warm lighting also bring a sense of modern elegance to the table.
