Taking over from the Norton Street stalwart Galante's, Underbelli had some big shoes to fill. Happily, with its generous menu of Mediterranean classics and ultra-friendly vibe, this place manages the weighty expectation with ease.
The historic cafe strip of Norton Street is steeped in tradition, as much for its hospitable service as its reputation for being the bastion of Italian food in Sydney. Underbelli recognises this responsibility and rises to the challenge ably. Expect a warmth and generosity to the service here matched only by the comfort and generosity of the food.
