Delicious Take-Away
The restaurant seemed well laid out and we were tempted to dine here, but we opted for take-away instead. This alternative seemed far more economical given the high prices on the dine-in menu.

Our fare consisted of Balik Buglama (Barramundi cooked with tomato, onion, capsicum and mushrooms in a creamy sauce; served with rice and salad), and Karisik Grill (mixture of lamb & chicken kebab, lamb cutlet & kofte served with rice and salad).

The Balik Buglama was absolutely delicious. The kebabs and kofte were well marinated and tasty; the lamb cutlet a tad dry and tough.

Having visited Turkey and savoured the food there, I must say that these two dishes from Turk'Oz were fairly authentic in flavour.

Not worth the money
I agree with maadonna. I went here a while ago but all I remember is ordering lamb cutlets of some sort, and my partner orderd prawns. The food was bland, overcooked and way too overpriced. Don't know what the banquet is like, but I'm sure there are probably better places.

Banquet good, menu bad
I get tired of being provided with much more food than I can possibly eat, so when eating at Turk'Oz tonight I chose not to order the banquet with everyone else in my group but to order something small from the menu (my daughter, who is young enough to look like a child, was with me, which is important for tonight's story).

Firstly, the banquet items kept being brought to my end of the table, and I had to continually redirect it to the other end (had told them we weren't eating from the banquet).

Then the first kids meal was brought to the rest of the table and I had to intercept it to bring it to the kid (ummm...there is only one young person...where might you start when you haven't paid attention to who ordered what). And the same with the second kids meal...

I ordered a bean salad. Some other salad, covered in carrots arrived. I asked what it was and the waitress had to go back and ask. When I told her that it wasn't what I ordered, she took it back. 1hr later mine hadn't arrived (which, really, was OK because I was so not wanting to eat by then).

On top of it all, this was the most expensive Turkish I have seen in Canberra.

I think they can probably cope with the regular 'give us the banquet', but don't know how to do anything beyond that.

Never, ever, going there again.

A nice lunch venue
We had a small lunch here yesterday in this venue that we usually reserve for relaxed dinner feasts. The service was prompt, the meal well priced and the food was up to its normal excellent standard.
