A very unsavoury experience.
The food showed hardly any uniqueness and the service was disappointing. Went to the restaurant with the family and my toddler. Whilst making the booking they were made aware of the toddler and welcomed it. At the restaurant I was asked to quiten my chatty toddler down as one patron had complained. Keeping in mind my toddler was not screaming his head off we left with quite a bitter after taste. I would recommend the restaurant do not advertise as child friendly to avoid putting future patrons in embarrassing situations like this.

Excellent, truly fantastic
We're not sure what Intern is talking about. we dine at Tukka at least five times a year and have since 2004! The front manager always makes us feel welcome and we've never experienced a mishap while in his care. Stephanie's cooking is brilliant, and I don't even generally like game meat! Wife and I had a great night, we'll definitely be back. Plus, even the finest of restaurants make mistakes and everyone we know loves Tukka.

Not recommended
This was, without exaggeration, the worst 'fine-dining' experience of my life. Our main meals were presented two hours after our arrival - a very long time to nurse a glass of white wine. They were not what we had ordered, were over-cooked and poorly presented. The wait staff, although apologetic, needed significant coaching in making reparations for the quality of the meal.
The dessert order was incorrect. When it came time to pay the bill, they kindly deducted the cost of the three main meals which were left uneaten, but mistakenly then added the cost of two further desserts. Very sloppy indeed. The prices on the menu certainly don't reflect the quality of the experience. I won't be going back.

great
The food was amazing!
I had the emu and it was just fantastic! My partner had the buffalo, and whilst she enjoyed it, I could see her eyeing my Emu, as it was not only delicious but had a great presentation too :)
The vegetables were steamed to perfection!
The only reason I had given it 3 stars on service is because we waited for our food for one hour. We only had the main meals and this was an incredibly long time to wait, drinking wine... The restaurant was half empty, so this was rather strange?
The staff were kind and understanding, huge smiles, and great in every other way... the management even brought us complimentary bite sized entrees, which was nice too.
I will definitely be back again!

True blue Aussie tucker, or is it French with native Australian ingredients?
Food was tasty, but very tiny portions. Service was capable, but I sensed that the waitress was being condescending to me at times. Great decor, although the tables are a bit cramped due to the dimunitive space of the restaurant.
The native platter was nice, and the damper was particularly interesting. An elegant version of the crude bushman version, damper cooked like this deserve to be more popularly featured in Aussie home kitchens and BBQs. But why present native game meats as European-style sausages that tastes more or less the same as their orthodox counterparts?
While I find it fascinating that there's a specialist restaurant devoted to native Australian ingredients and the promotion of its use, the food itself is not terribly original: the food and its execution just screamed French, with native Australian ingredients seemingly substitutions for what would usually be French flavours. The new set of flavours still come together beautifully, but is it going to be something Aussies will identify without a doubt as their national cuisine?

Mod Oz at its best
I found myself staying close to this fabulous place. My dining partner had the wallaby - great. I had the fish of the day - ocean trout. The fig pudding was sublime. This was some of the best food I tasted during my 5 weeks in Oz.

Truly Advanced Australian Fare
This restaurant is a cut above the rest, I was very impressed with the innovative dishes and the service was quick and unobtrusive. The restaurant was voted the best in the state last year, and the combination of native Australian ingredients with a gourmet French touch from young chef-to-watch Bremont is unbeatable.
I go back a couple of times every year, they change the menu so frequently it nevers gets boring. My personal favourites at the moment are the seared emu fillet ringed with passionfuit foam, and the mature goat's cheese filo with native honey and finger lime buerre blanc.
