Cafes in Balmain are a dime a dozen. Good cafes anywhere are like buried treasure: you search for so long without success that eventually you just stop digging. So when you do find one - like this hole-in-the-wall gem - with great food that's simple but done really well, high quality coffee made by someone who knows what they're doing, and nice atmosphere, the temptation is to bury it again so no one else finds it. Well too bad, now everyone knows. While refraining from a joke about having struck gold, this cafe might just become your new favourite local spot.
