Restaurant Information
Tongue & Groove
Describing this new entertainment venue as "industrial-chic," doesn't do justice to the enormity of the space which is both pizza joint and pub. The massive concrete beams stand around the cavernous room like sentinels keeping watch of the trendy clientele as they nibble and drink their way to contentment. The menu offers pizza options such as slow-roasted lamb, caramelised onion, sliced potato, rucola and a fresh mint and yoghurt dressing; or marinated anchovies with bocconcini, tomato, garlic, basil and olive oil. For dessert, the team at Tongue & Groove have trademarked a special dessert - the pizookie, a pizza-sized cookie topped with vanilla ice cream and lashings of white chocolate and dribbles of peanut butter.

Best 21st
Best 21st To staff Thank you for making my 21st the greatest night I, my friends and family have ever ever enjoyed. The food was Superb. A plentiful tasty variety, Specially catered for by professionals, satisfying the taste buds of a muticultural list of guests, Egyptians,Greek,Chinese,Polish,Bungladesh,Sri Lankan, New Zealand and Australian, from Canberra and interstate. Stress free, every thing organised in perfect detail only a professional is capable of. A part of the restaurant was sectioned off from, other patrons, for my family and guests, enabling us to enjoy a private function with a combined party atmosphere when the music started pumping. The service was perfect, second to none, I felt like a Princess, my family treated like Royalty. Ohhhh and the drinks what can I say about the drinks, cocktails ummmmmm, shots yummm, variety absolutely. If you haven't been, you don't know what your missing. I would recommend a visit to Tongue & Groove for a social, stress free function for all occasions.
Thank you

What's going on with this place?
After reading the previous reviews we decided to go T&G a go on a Monday night. Lovely atmosphere clean and tidy with friendly staff, that's the good news. Unfortunately things got a bit untidy as soon as we ordered drinks. 2 glasses of red wine turned up instead of 1 and a lovely bottle of chilled rose rather than a a pinot gris as had been ordered. After a bit of confusion the correct wine was produced. We were asked if we would like to order to which we politely declined saying we would like to have a drink first. Less than 5 mins later another waitress approached and asked if we were ready to order, we repeated drink first please. Unbelievably a couple of mins later another waitress approached wanting to take our order, we snapped to it and made our selections which proved to be not so easy. Dining with a vegan is always problematic but with a vegetarian pizza it should be a snap. Not so, the request for no cheese on the pizza had to be cleared with the kitchen and the request for anchovies on another pizza was dismissed with a 'we don't add to our pizzas'. Fair enoguh, the order was changed to a chicken pie. 3 meals turned up and a 5 mins wait for the 3rd, a pizza. Pizzas were bland and very ordinary, they need to work on the tomato base, chicken pies were a better choice, but again a bit bland. There were about 15 tables occupied including outside tables with people having a drink after work so not too busy. There seemed to be lots of staff running around but they appeared to be disorganised. We won't be going back until we hear that the food has picked up. There is too much competition in the city and T&G needs to lift its game.
