The Yarra Valley landscape is littered with picturesque vineyards, offering enough idyllic vistas and free-flowing wine to keep both bliss-seekers and wine tourists happy. Tokar Estate adds a restaurant to the usual cellar door mix, providing a ready excuse to linger over the vineyard views and another bottle of the estate's award-winning Tempranillo. Chef Mathew Hart presides over the kitchen, serving a menu of Mediterranean dishes that focuses on seasonal and local Yarra Valley produce. His dishes are as diverse as seared roast rabbit wrapped in pancetta, served with caramelised peaches, frizze and radish salad; and lentil and vegetable vol-au-vent, topped with a goat's cheese, Spanish onion and beetroot salad.
