Tucked away down a laneway, out of the city bustle, this restaurant's big, juicy steaks and fresh local seafood will pacify your appetite without denting your wallet.

great prices
ate at tim's on 2 occasions while in darwin, by far the best meal we had up there and fabulous prices. also the bar prices are fantastic. the staff are the friendliest we have encountered, the place is busy, although a little hard to find in a small back street, but it is worthwhile making the effort to visit here. great for families.

What a let down!
Found this place by chance and as we all wanted to try some crocodile & fresh NT seafood before leaving Darwin, we went here. Really disappointed. For staters, your menu is a piece of paper with everything listed and you mark the quantities wanted...then you get up and pay @ the counter. It felt like we were voting! Drinks were only available via the bar and the wine list was lame - only two whites and two reds, both Hardy's. When the food came out, it wasn't that great. The crocdile was more crumbing then croc, and what we could taste of it, it seemed dry and tough. Turns out the Barramundi & prawns are Thai imports! Seems a little crazy considering people are up there to try the local stuff! The chicken kiev came out completely smothered in a garlicy sauce which just made it soggy and gross. The surroundings were nice, lots of trees, lights etc. But wouldn't recommend it.

Tims Surf and Turf
Tims Surf and Turf has been the first option for my mates and I every time food is mentioned. The place is amazing, the staff are truely welcoming, and Tim good on ya mate. I rave to my family and friends about going for dinner at Tims, the service is the best service in the NT and thats only because i have not left the NT yet. The meals are huge; not to mention my favourite Parma, it just about falls of my plate every time. Keep up the good work guys. A night out enjoyed every time.

Returned for 10th Anniversary Dinner
Tim has amazing staff, they a real credit to themselves and his restaurant. The Reef and Beef, Chicken Caeser Salad were wonderful, and the kids had steak and chips and nuggets and chips, I was stunned at the size of the kids steak! As usual, Tims was a great night out, just like his Tims on the Bay was for our wedding night 10 years ago. the service was cheerful and well organised. The entertainement was great too. I love to find a rare place that welcomes and serves so well.

Stopover on the way to Bali
Had one day in Darwin and on the recommendation of this website chose Tims as out stop for dinner. We were greeted by very enthusiastic and friendly staff who made suggestions from the menu. I chose a seafood platter which had lovely fresh barra along with oysters, prawns and squid and my partner tried a crocodile parmagiana which he enjoyed. A great memory of Darwin for us.

Highly Recommend
May be located in a rather questionable street of Darwin but once inside the atmosphere is something to behold, in fact we ate there twice in our short stay. The staff are very efficient and definitely not in your face. Can highly recommend the seafood, you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to get back to Darwin and Tim's.

A Magic Place for Food and Atmosphere
Our first visit to DARWIN and our second visit to Tim's restaurant in one week. Once is definitely not enough. Tim is a bit of a magician and his restaurant, food and staff are magic as well. (I'll BE BACK!)

Tims wins hands down!
If you're in Darwin and looking for a fantastic, budget-friendly meal, then look no further than Tim's. This place can range from a quiet, romantic dinner by the pool, to music and madness!
The entrees, mains and desserts rock, the atmosphere is alive and charged, and the added bonus is that Tim, yes the man himself, may do a little impromptu magic.
Forget the "5-star gold-plate" winners - unless you're willing to take a second mortgage out. Stick with Tim's and you'll not leave disappointed.
