Trendy and eclectic, Tiger, Tiger is a lively spot popular with young'uns and families alike. While the service can be patchy, the simple, wholesome food and to-die-for coffee more than make up for it, with regulars insisting this is some of the best brew you'll find in Perth. The food is hearty and comforting and the setting relaxed, with a student vibe but clientele of all types. Live music and an outdoor courtyard complete the scene to make this one of Perth's (until recently) best-kept secrets.

Worst service ever and terrible food!
I went to this place for a casual dinner with friends and have never expreience such poor service.
The place is meant to be open for dinner on Tuesdays, but when we went there, they informed us that we could stay but since there was only one other table, that they would be closing early. We had arrived at 6:30pm..
The service only got worse: - We were told to sit outside, despite the weather being freezing, upon which we insisted on sitting inside. - We were asked to order immediately, both mains and dessert as they were closing the kitchen. - We were told that our order was sufficient for 3 people but was really sufficient for 1, possibly 2. - When we tried to order more food, they told us the kitchen had already closed.
We were kicked out before 7:15pm and were not given a chance to finish out wine. The bill came to $130!!!

Really really good coffee, and ...
I always love returning to Tiger Tiger for the great ambience and the great coffee... but on the last 3 or 4 occasions I have begun to question why.
The staff always seem put out of their way, particularly when asked whether an order needs to be placed at the table or counter (which always seems to change too). It's a real shame, but with good coffee hard to find I will probably go back... but maybe next time just for a takeaway.

Terrible service. Poor food.
I had a really bad experience here this morning for three reasons:
1. The menu is poor. Very limited options and they completely refuse to substitue anything, and are proud to tell you so. I asked if they could do scrambled eggs and bacon, to which the owner rudely said: No. We're not changing anything. My mate ordered muesli, and later found out that they haven't had any for over a year. Mind you, this is a chalkboard menu. They'd also run out of muffins, but we only discovered this after we'd ordered, paid and sat down.
2. The service is poor. I have never copped so much attitude for asking a simple question about the menu. Everything is just too much trouble. I was treated with suspicion and hostility when I asked where I could find a few sugar sachets. Had I ordered a coffee? (Three, actually). What were they? (Cap, latte and mocha). Oh yeah? And where are you sitting? (Right outside, where you just delivered them). The waitress literally threw them over the counter.
3. The food is poor. When a cafe tells you that they don't change the menu, I now realise that it is because the dishes are mostly pre-made. Alarm bells also started ringing in my head when the sandwich came out just 2 mins later. Dry, rubbery, tasteless.
The only good thing going for this joint are the coffees - they are terrific. But do yourself a favour and go around the corner to King St. Any of the cafes there do coffee just as well, and breakfast much better and cheaper. And they do it with full table service, and without the attitude. :)

A regular breakkie stop
Not my first time at Tiger, Tiger. I have been here many times over the past 3 months. The coffee is always excellent. One of the best coffee's in Perth. The eggs & salmon on toast is delicious. The eggs are normally cooked to perfection (a couple of times they have been overdone a bit). You get a generous serve of salmon and the toast is beautiful. I have met many people there as it is normally busy so I share a table with others. This adds to the atmosphere of the place. They care about their coffee and their food.

Top coffee
This place would have to be in the top 3 in terms of coffee quality! The Fiori coffee is a standout in general and the Single Origin days are something to camp out for. The barista/owner knows her stuff.
To food is great, I've only been here in the mornings, so for brekkie regular dishes that are tops are the eggs benedict rye (#1), fruit toast and eggs on toast perfect. Muffins are home made and yummy.

Great coffee but too expensive
Great place with great coffee (so rare in Perth!) but $4 for a coffee? Worth it for a special occasion but not a daily coffee.

Brilliant Melbourne atmosphere and coffee, anyway
I love the atmosphere at Tiger, Tiger. Very Melbourne and urban. Also, one of the top five coffees in Perth (there isn't much good coffee in Perth). However, the service deteriorated when it started to get busy and the food portion was absolutely tiny! Come here for great coffee and atmosphere.
