Opened in 1996 as the first Tibetan restaurant in Queensland, Punam Howard's traditional Himalayan eatery is still a hit all these years on. Offering a mix of Nepalese, Tibetan and Sherpa cuisines, this authentic restaurant gathered a huge following of supporters who had overdosed on South-East Asian food when it exploded onto the scene some years back.
The decor is similarly eclectic, with intimate lighting and Tibetan mosaics on the walls. There are small and large rooms throughout the venue so you don't feel crowded on a romantic night out.

Excellent food
I went with a couple of friends on a Friday night. Food is excellent, absolutely delicious. We had a lamb vindaloo, a sherpa platter (dalbhat, rice, lamb and side dishes) and chowchow noodles. The lamb was to die for, it was cooked to perfection. The place is noisy, it was difficult to hear each other across the table. The toilets leave something to be desired for. The manager lady was less than welcoming and very irritated, but the service overall was fast, efficient and the other staff were helpful. Good portion sizes and value for money. They could definitely do better to improve the ambiance of the place, but they get the tick marks for all the things that count. If you are looking for some good food, reasonable prices and not too bothered about it being noisy, this is your place. On the merit of the food, I would go definitely go back.
