eat elsewhere
I was aware of the poor reviews before I booked this restaurant but decided to give them a go anyway - big mistake. You can buy better chicken satay sauces from the supermarket, and the chicken in the pad thai was dry and awful. The pad thai came with absolutely no vegetables, so I asked for a side which set me back a further $15. Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere.

Pretty good value
I booked a table of 14 in here for a recent birthday.
Many of us ordered the $25 banquet which included two small entrees and 4 mains. The mains, while fairly common dishes were well flavoured and adequate to generous portions. We had red curry, beef masman curry, an excellent giner chicken and a seafood dish.
Those that ordered off the menu were very happy, and the choice of dishes was extensive. Seafood is a feature on the menu.
Service was prompt and the wait staff were obliging. They also called to confirm the table size on the day.
The setting was pleasant, if a little bland. Brightly coloured walls with a few prints and plain tables and chairs. They staff also turned down the air conditioner on request.
but the big seeling points for this place are its excellent location, near the Canberra Center and lots of pubs and clubs, and the $3 per bottle wine corkage and the free beer corkage.
It makes Three Mothers an excellent place to start off a night in town. I would recommend this place to those looking for a casual dining expereince with good value food, and great value drinks!

What rubbish
After being wedged into some tables like we were being shoved into a cattle truck, it took them forever to take our order. Mind you, the food came out quickly but it was so bad that we had a couple of mouthfuls each and left. The food was flavourless & uninspiring aside from the excessive use of chilli. I can't remember the last dining experience I had that was this bad. I was looking for a new Thai experience in Garema Place on a Friday after work and all I got was $48 worth of disappointment...
