Good, basic Vietnamese fare
I've had dinner and take away form here in the last 2 weeks. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is very clean.Look out for the chandelier as you pay your bill!We ordered salt & pepper flounder & calamari, pork & vege spring rolls, satay beef, beef with vermicelli & vege fried rice.Unfortunately they don't have prawn spring rolls which I love. All of the above food was of good quality, fresh & delicious, however I must say that the take away food was not as good as when we sat and ate it in the restaurant.Try an avocado shake for something different-filling and very yummy.Good, local eatery which I would make a regular on my list.

Not the best
I happened to walk past and decided to try since the atmosphere looked pretty good from the outside. The restaurant was clean and spacious.

We ordered the spicy beef noodles soup, spring rolls and chicken ribs with rice. Firstly, the spring rolls were very disappointing. There were many layers of skin in each spring roll and the filling was almost non-existent bar a few strands of chopped carrot and literally a pinch of minced pork. The noodles arrived looking and smelling very unappetising. The taste seemed quite artificial. The rice with chicken ribs was $10 but was very mediocre.

The best part of the meal was probably the three coloured drink which obviously doesn't say much. In my opinion, there are many other Vietnamese establishments around the area which serve way better food at more decent prices.

Best Restaurant In The West
For a very cheap eat of around $10-15 it's always a decent serve, it's always fresh and it is always of top quality. The cube steak with special rice is a highlight. The staff are always friendly. Now they've moved over the road the facilities are spotless (especially in comparison to the rest of Footscray's restaurants).

Cheap and simple
Thien An do a Western take on Vietnamese pho. The food is fresh but they tone down the fish sauce and use of traditional herbs. Very simple dishes that appeal to a shyer palate. A good introduction to Vietnamese if you've never eaten it, but no way near as authentic as the real thing. Fast but indifferent service, Thien An is good for a quick lunch under $10.
