The atmosphere inside Thea is gentle and calm. The staff and patrons are likewise gentle and calm. Even the food is comforting. Perhaps there is something in the tea... Bryan and Kathy Chen have created an elegant and pleasing space in which to relax and enjoy their Taiwanese influenced dishes. The food is vegetarian - proper vegetarian, with no meat stocks, and Thea also specialise in hot and cold teas in a range of traditional and non-traditional flavours. Very nutritious. Thea is a perfect place to be soothed and nurtured.

Lovely for a refreshing cup of tea
This is a real gem with lovely owners - agree with all other reviews. Escape the city for a tea or meal. My fave is the cold passionfruit tea!

Not only for vegetarians! Everyone I have brought here has really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. A great place to chill out in the city in the afternoons, drink tea, eat a snack, read a book, chat with friends.

An oasis in the city
Thea is one of Adelaide's best kept secrets. A tranquil traditional tea house with a very surprising menu. The list of hot and cold teas is extensive and all of them are delicious and delicate in flavour. The menu is exclusively vegetarian and many dishes revolve around traditional Vietnamese style-dishes. My personal favourite is the Sweet and Sour Thing - a breaded gluten and seaweed protien served with salad, delicately flavoured rice and of course a sumptuous sweet and sour sauce. All dishes are under $10. If you are looking for a relaxed place for lunch or Friday night dinner, or a casual place for a snack with friends you won't be disappointed in Thea!
