This stylish Mediterranean restaurant could easily be mistaken for a simple cafe. Once past the facade, the indoor dining area is a fusion of contemporary and classic design, without the polished look of surrounding venues (the original features, such as the sandstone wall, are what give this place its charm). The food and drinks are reasonably priced, and within the humble menu the chef has managed to squeeze in everything from traditional Spanish fare to Portuguese cuisine. Breakfasts are a standout; try the full vintage brekky with bacon, chorizo, eggs and toast, or the mouth-watering Mediterranean omelette featuring capsicum, tomato, Spanish onion, mushrooms, oregano, herbs and feta cheese. If you stick around in the evening, a live band will give you a solid dose of bossa nova and jazz.
