Once known as Ess, this new bar is keen to establish itself as a different animal altogether, and with a wine list longer than an elephant's trunk, it's clear they mean business. The garden is a highlight, perfect for a tipple with friends or a delicious meal with your significant other. The food is eloquent and simple modern Australian fare featuring great produce and fresh flavours. Small plates and share plates, main meals and desserts are all creatively presented to enhance the overall experience.
The standout of this bar, however, has got to be the wine list, a long ode to all things fermented featuring some of Australia and the world's best drops. Bottles range from a simple yet well-balanced Stone Gully Chenin Blanc on the lower end of the price spectrum to a robust and decadent Woodside Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 well into the triple figures and everything in between.
