Get a good view of Fremantle's Fishing Boat Harbour at The View Fremantle, a prime location to witness the stunning sunsets reflected on the Indian Ocean. Taking the place of former haunt Lyrebird, The View retains the balance between laidback beachside bar and trendy tapas dining spot, replete with an expansive outdoor area. Inside the feel is at once roomy and intimate, lined by majestic black pillars reaching towards the high ceiling, letting in extra sunlight from the windows during the day.
Contributing to the exotic mystique of the venue, an effervescent water feature bubbles away in the middle of the restaurant, dividing different areas of wooden tables and wicker chairs. Like its predecessor, The View dabbles in a mix of modern Australian and Indonesian flavours, predominantly serving seafood and tapas to its relaxed clientele.

I called it early!
This place is like a rocket ship about to launch. There is huge amounts of potential and they have a great foundation on which to build. I ate there last Sunday night and watched the sun go down with a mojito and mates. The location is fantastic and the quality of the cocktails rivals, if not exceeds that of Perth's top cocktail bars.
Young, crisp and fresh staff all the way from management through to wait staff, with locals and international waitstaff. I even overheard on 2 occasions the French waiter speaking to a French couple and the Italian waiter speaking to an Italian table! How about that for staying in your comfort zone!
The only downfall was the food. The tapas lacked imagination and was a little bland. The manager came and had a chat with us and explained about the plans to relaunch in March and the direction of the venue and its going to be huge.
Just remember, I called it early. This will be the place to be next summer (maybe even the winter watching storms roll in over the water!)

New owners apparently and its awesome ...
Just took the family to The View for the first time after walking past it a hundred times before and cannot recommend it highly enough.
The staff were awesome, the food was brilliant and the entire experience was flawless. The manager gave us a free bottle of wine, threw in free ice cream for the kids and couldn't have been more pleasant. The service was the type of service I haven't seen in Perth for ten years ie really really good.
Apparently its under new management and theres been a few changes, since it was our first time can't really comment but loved the meal tonight and will definitely be back.

What an amazing View at this classy establishment. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the View. The food and service was exceptional. There is a huge outdoor balcony (a little too windy on the night we went) which over looks the ocean very relaxing. Indeed this is a great place to check out we highly recommend it. George and Patty
