The Table may sound like an overly simple name for a restaurant, but the food going on at this table is anything but run-of-the-mill.
Head chef James Blackman has worked in some of Melbourne's most prestigious kitchens, including Jacques Reymond and Il Solito Posto. With his own restaurant, Blackman brings all this classical training to bear alongside his passion for Central and South American cuisine. Expect to see classic French technique paired artfully with Latin American flavours. Confit duck and rabbit terrines may not initially seem to pair well with tomatillo and mango salsas and agave glazes, but when a technician like Blackman is in charge, everything just works.
