Just the kind of bright, cute and airy cafe where you'd want to take your friends for a social nosh, The Spot Caffeteria is a Caulfield North cafe gem. Rays of sunlight stream into the cafe during the day, while at night the vibe is intimate with a warm buzz. Locals have flocked here in droves since it opened back in 2005, enjoying fresh coffees, pastries, sandwiches, muffins and salads. Now, the Italian-meets-Modern Australian night-time menu features such gourmet offerings as the tre funghi pizza (featuring tomato, mushroom, chilli, pecorino and fresh basil), the cottoletta di vitello (crumbed veal with tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad), and an intriguing variety of sweet pizzas and sweet gnocchi.

Very good coffee and food, but...
The Spot is quite produce driven and is certainly a cut above most cafes, certainly those in barren Caulfield. They have a board with cheese, avocado and other produce which is delicious. The coffee is great. However, extra bread (which is necessary for the board) is $5! And $2 for a babyccino is highway robbery. It's always a shame when a place gets so much right, then takes the p!ss on the small stuff.
