The Ship Inn

More than just pub grub, here you will find a menu with a large amount of unusual and interesting seafood treats. There are nine oyster selections: mango and chilli, jalapeno vodka shooters or frozen champagne oysters to name a few. There are also interesting mussel selections, such as mussels with chorizo, tomato, chilli, white wine, onion and basil. The hickory-smoked salmon salad is popular, but the barramundi with butter sauce of macadamias is a must. There both indoor and street dining, and a tapas menu is available. For those not so keen on seafood, there is an adequate selection of meat dishes including steak and mushroom pie and wagyu rump. A small list of Australian wines is available. The Southbank atmosphere, the historical hotel setting and the daring menu makes this an interesting pub stop.

Nice atmosphere, overpriced though
My partner and I ate here and found that it wasn't the greatest. The food was extremly overpriced for what it was. The portions were very small. I had the lamb which was $27 and the lamb was blood red. Only few vegies and my potatoes were cold. My partner had the snapper and thought the snapper was nice but again extremly small portions leaving us still hungry after spend $60 on food alone! The atmosphere is nice along South Bank there. The staff behind the bar were lovely and professional but we sat outside and was wondering if we get serice or was it self-service so there was confusion. Overall, reasonably nice atmosphere but I would not go again until prices are resonable or the food portions improve.
