Good food, but slow patchy service
The seafood-centred dishes here are of a high standard, better than just good. Amongst the entrees is dish of grilled sardines on bean puree that is outstanding, and the fresh fish mains we had were fine.
The service though is slow and idiosyncratic. Our mains took an hour and a quarter, too long even on a pleasant evening, and the approach is chatty and informal to the extent that the wait staff sit at your table to explain the menu and call you 'darling'. If you like that, fine. Oh yes, and we had to move tables after we sat down because 'the chef's mother has rung and particuarly requested that table'. Again, if you are relaxed about that sort of thing, fine.
One warning: we sat outside because the owner assured us there was no smoking outside, but in fact they do allow regulars to smoke out there.
Soundtrack played throughout the meal: Gypsy Kings.

Hidden gem
This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem. Such a gem, that I am hesitant to let everyone know of what a fabulous place it is in case I cannot get bookings there in the future.
This place is hidden in Challis Ave, Potts Point opposite the very trendy Lotus restaurant and cocktail bar... It matches the decor and look and feel of the area, but without the pretentiousness - or the price tag.
The food here is unbelievable - huge servings of absolutely delicous seafood, at a very very reasonable price. Also, it's BYO - very few restaurants of this calibre are BYO.
In addition to this, the service is fantastic. The owner/operator is the most enthusastic person around and obviously loves what she does - it's great to see.
I would recommend this place above any other - and go as far as to say this is my favourite restaurant in Sydney - all round winner!
