Reopening in March 2011, this formerly drab corner pub has been renovated and spiffed up to become ... a sleepy corner pub! But this time it's got an intentionally daggy yet somehow weirdly cool atmosphere about it, with darts, a pool table and the proud service of beer in pony glasses. Yes, pony glasses, so your beer stays cold the whole entire time it takes to drink it. The main game though, as always with us, is the food. The dining room is a cool little retro-styled space that serves up equally retro meals like steaks filled with oysters and other similarly '80s-style delicacies. The overall vibe is one of a friendly, old-style country pub, and put together with a killer beer garden and a cool, young crowd, it makes for one cracking reinvention.
